Dynafiber UFD is ITW Dynatec’s modular spray system that delivers uniform patterns (hence UFD, uniform fibre depositor) of four micron and larger.
      It fiberises the adhesive perpendicular to the direction the web is moving to create a superior pattern blending, as shown above, with precise edge definition and no overlap or high and low bond points due to multiple filaments.
      UFD nozzle pieces, which can be used for vertical or horizontal applications, are designed to fit standard one inch (25.4 mm) applicator heads and comprise a range of pattern variations so that each nozzle delivers a different oscillation effect.  They can be replaced on a single module in one or two minutes.

Production flexibility
UFD nozzles deliver larger fibres than meltdown or non-contact slot coat applicators with the same or less adhesive laydown, making UFD ideal for lamination applications where spiral was utilised before.
      And being modular units, they also offer far higher efficiency and meet flexible production requirements with much better resistance to nozzle plugging over spiral or bead applications because of the number of orifices per nozzle and the integrated filtering design.
